JAID is an NGO established in 1959 by a parent of a child with Down syndrome. It is an advocacy organization and a provider of services to persons with intellectual disabilities and their families across Jamaica. The Job Skills Training Project (2014-2017) is a highlight of our work. This program, in partnership with the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, trained 230 adults in seven parishes with job coaching support. Seventy-seven adults secured full-time jobs after training.
