Freedom Skate Park Foundation Ltd

Freedom Skatepark is Jamaica's first street skatepark, located in Bull Bay adjacent to the Bull Bay Football Club, approximately 8 miles outside of Kingston. This skatepark is free and open to the public everyday between 1PM-7PM serving the community of Kingston and skaters across the country. We run a variety of youth programs: Edu-Skate, homework tutoring, conflict resolution, art, photography, and yoga. Our goal is to create a safe space for the youth and the community. To date, Freedom Skatepark has had 364 Edu-Skate classes with an attendance of 3,191. 244 homework sessions with an attendance of 1,030. We've run 83 enrichment activities, with an attendance of 342, and executed 1,410 community service jobs. We've also had 9,802 rentals in our Get-on-Board program.

Mission/Impact Statement

The mission of the Freedom Skate Park Foundation is to provide a high quality, well maintained, safe space to grow the sport of skateboarding in Jamaica, while empowering our youth.

Current Needs

We are seeking $20,000 in funds: $6,000 allocated to our back to school scholarship, and the remaining $14,000 to the youth nutrition program.

Key Services or Activities

We run Concrete Jungle Foundation's Edu-Skate program which teaches youth essential life skills through skateboarding. We also offer a variety of other programs including homework, yoga, conflict resolution, photography, and music.
