Situated in the periphery of the May Day Mountain and 3 miles southeast of Mandeville, the capital of the parish, the school was officially opened on June 24, 1954. It transitioned from a Experimental Primary (1974), All-Age and Secondary to Primary, Junior High and Secondary (1975), Comprehensive High School (1998) and High School (2000).
