Established as a Boys Home in 1960, St. John Bosco (SJB) Vocational Training Centre provides high-quality vocational training and employment opportunities to marginalised, rural youth. Since becoming a vocational training centre in 2022, SJB has welcomed females into its population and has introduced several new training programmes which meet the demands of today’s local and international labour markets. The school expands students' skills in Crop Production, Commercial Food Preparation, Greenhouse Technology, Butchery, Hairdressing, Barbering and more via practical activities, internships and apprenticeships. Overall, SJB caters to the unique needs of rural youth who lack the number of opportunities offered to their urban counterparts.
