RISE Life Management Services was established in 1989 as Addiction Alert, offering Jamaica's first outpatient treatment center for addictive disorders. In 2005, the organization's name was changed to RISE - Reaching Individuals through Skills and Education - to reflect its programmatic expansion to address the evolving needs. RISE delivers impactful projects that align with its vision of building a resilient and empowered society with equitable access to opportunities, knowledge, and support systems that positively transform lives and communities. Forging strategic partnerships and using participatory approaches have been central to its longevity and relevance. There is high demand for our current programme, with 36 persons registering, exceeding the target of 30. A total of 32 students (15 boys, 17 girls) completed the programme in the last year with 83% improving by one to three grade levels. Parents and teachers also noted improvement in overall behavior and attitude towards learning.
