Museum of Jamaican Ancestral Heritage

MOJAH is an engaging journey through Jamaica's past, present, and future, empowering people with stories of our unique heritage. Through our 7-pillars, the museum explores influences on our people, values, literature, art, lifestyle, music, cuisine, humor, language, politics, environment, conservation, tourism and sports. Collaborative workshops educate, uplift and develop 'fi wi' (our) culture. MOJAH will be accessible and inclusive for everyone, without exception.

Mission/Impact Statement

To inspire Jamaicans through a contemporary lens to explore, recover, and preserve their history and culture and become stewards of our heritage and the environment

Current Needs

US$250,000 would provide ability to conduct focus groups, get a branded van and fill it with our Kit and suitcase exhibits, hire the necessary staff, cover our operating costs and implement our pilot programme in St. Elizabeth and beyond, impacting a few thousand people over the next 18 months, also host a fundraiser to engage new donors.

Key Services or Activities

In collaboration with both established and innovative cultural organizations, MOJAH seeks to amplify efforts, bringing more value to ongoing efforts. Through carefully developed programmes and workshops we will deliver on our commitment to attract children 8-12, their teachers, parents, families, to the powerful stories of achievement that Jamaica has to tell.
