On October 28, 2025, Hurricane Melissa hit Jamaica and causes massive damage. The Goverment of Jamaica estimates that US$8 billion worth of damage was done. Over 100,000 homes and 60% of public schools were damaged. Major infrastructre including roads, telecommunications, and healthcare was severaly damaged.
